It has an internationally renowned faculty and is set in the cosmopolitan,
cultural and business centre that is Amsterdam.
We have been offering business education for 85 years.
Tailormade, linking theory to practice
The Amsterdam MBA: All the main business subjects are taught in the core
MBA courses. Also an international study trip is part of the core course
curriculum. By choosing 2-4 electives the Amsterdam MBA can be tailored
to your own business interests.
All courses are designed to combine academic rigour
with practical relevance that brings the business world into the classroom.
Our recognition of the importance of leadership competencies in students’
personal and professional development was the motivation
for creating the Amsterdam Leadership Programme,
one of the MBA’s core courses.
The Master in International Finance:
Taught by the ABS' renowned Finance Group,
the Master in International Finance (MIF) programme introduces students
to cutting-edge developments in international corporate finance,
asset management and banking.
The curriculum aims to prepare students for a professional rather than
an academic career. Nevertheless, high academic standards are maintained
and students are introduced to the most recent research in respective areas.
At the same time, experts from the financial services industry are
regularly involved in developing and evaluating the curriculum,
thus guaranteeing that the course material offered has a high degree
of practical relevance.
Diverse student profile
With more than 19 nationalities represented,
the Amsterdam MBA and the MIF have a very diverse student population.
The full-time programmes attracts over 90% non-Dutch students and even
for the part-time programmes this is close to 60%.
The average age is between 28 and 32, and women make up 40% of our classes.
This diversity, combined with the high level of interactivity of the courses
provide an additional dimension to your learning experience.
Accreditation
Both programmes received the prestigious NVAO accreditation from
the Dutch government, guaranteeing that our degrees are recognised
all over the world. As a sign of the continuous high quality of our school,
the EQUIS accreditation of the Amsterdam Business School recently
has been extended.
Work permit up to 5 years
The Netherlands welcomes talented individuals and study visa
are easily obtained. For those of you planning to stay in the Netherlands
after graduation, the Dutch government has relaxed work permit regulations
for graduates from Dutch universities (regardless of nationality).
This means that each graduate of The Amsterdam MBA and MIF can stay and work
in the Netherlands for up to 5 years after graduation,
without needing a work permit.
There are a few conditions (minimum salary, kind of company),
but these are normally easily met by our students.
