請問一個介系詞問題 - 社會議題

各位英文大師，下面這句該用"at"還是"in"呢？可以幫忙說明一下嗎？謝謝
men are better than women at engineering.
men are better than women in engineering.
(沒有性別歧視喔，只是我們上英文課討論到的話題，男女各有不同的優缺點喔)
另外，這樣句子的結構好嗎？有沒有更適的寫法呢？

Men are a lot better at engineering than women are.
Alec is a lot better at sport than I am.

不是男人和女人直接在比。而是他們的能力在比。

Men are good at engineering.
Women are good at engineering.
這兩者在比較。兩句合併時，後者的述部做了省略。

a lot是副詞，可用可不用。

be good at & be good in both are legitimate expressions.
From my understanding, it depends on the object it meant to describe.
For "engineering", I would use "good in", for it indicates "in the area of".
