F1居留問題 - 移民

我目前是H1B，我老婆還是學生，拿F1，
最近知道我老婆懷孕了，
算算時間，很可能小孩明年Spring Semester結束之前就會出生，
換句話說，可能小孩剛出生我老婆就畢業了。
她畢業之後，F1就會失效，
所以我想先為她的居留問題作打算。
就算是申請OPT，因為待業時間也只有3個月，
所以也不能居留太久。
請問如果小孩出生了，
她可以因為要撫養小孩，
申請甚麼temporary的status來留在美國嗎？
還是我只能先申請OPT，等她身體養好(希望3個月足夠)，
讓她回台灣辦H4再回來美國呢？
