基本上外國人在問where are you from的時候預期的答案都是你從哪個國家來的吧
就像你問一個Italian American這個問題他一定會回答你the US而不會回答你
"well, i'm from the US, but my parents are italian....so i guess that makes
me italian...oh wait, but my nationality is american, at least that's what my
passport says; so i suppose i'm both italian AND american? or if you prefer,
you can call me italian american..."

總之對他們而言 他們問了一個簡單的問題 期望的也是個簡單的答案
很不幸的對大部分人來說 你說你是chinese就代表你是from china
很少會有人問你"oh, do you mean PRC or ROC?"
這種問你從哪來的問題說明白一點只是個conversation piece
跟聊天氣聊你在哪工作哪個學校畢業的一樣
大部分就是問問而已 也不是真的很想知道你一切的文化背景
就簡單的回答from taiwan就可以了
在那邊扯一堆i'm chinese, but i'm from taiwan只會讓問你的人滿頭霧水
如果真的遇到對兩岸問題有涉獵 想知道你的看法的人自然會再追問下去
我想我們就不用自找麻煩了
