碰觸那之間差異的恐懼和反感 ---> 觸及那長久以來我們之間不同的恐懼與反感
瞭解戴了誰的面具 ---> 瞭解它穿著誰的樣貌/ 看看是穿了誰的面具
那麼個人就像政治照亮我們的選擇---> 那麼個人就像政治一樣，可闡明我們的選擇。

在中譯這段文章前, 必須瞭解作者 Audre Lorde 是60年代美國的黑人女性主義者. 她認為真正的女性主義不是只有在男女對立的簡單狀況中凸顯出來, 像因種族. 年齡.社會階層甚至建康造成的差異性都是真正的女權主義應該包括的研究議題. 我在版主提供的英文原稿中插入一些字句以幫助瞭解:

中譯：

Audre Lorde 認為白人女性主義者, 並沒有看到ㄧ些低階層或黑人女同志所受到不平等地對待,所以此文中所發問的對象(文中提到inside herself), 應是白人女權主義者, 請她們捫心自問:是否只有白人女同志才能得有女權的重視.
