請把「文化」跟「政權」分開來看!
美國人澳洲人紐西蘭人加拿大人就不能讀莎士比亞或是哈力波特嗎?
因為那是英國的東西
或者埃及人約旦人黎巴嫩人會說自己是阿拉伯人嗎?
就算他們同享阿拉伯文化
文化通常以「語言」為載體,影響的是使用同一語言(可能還有若干方言)的人群
我不認為台灣叫中華民國或是台灣國會影響我的母語是中文這件事
既然母語是中文,承接中文世界的遺產也是順理成章的
通常對這問題,我的答案是
I'm Taiwanese, I speak mandarin.
更進一步的答案就是
I speak mandarin and taiwanese, but use traditional chinese.
Chinese use simplified chinese.
